Humboldt State University Marine Lab
The Humboldt State University Marine Lab was established in 1965 to provide a center for marine science teaching and research for the students and faculty of the College of Natural Resources and Sciences. Located on a bluff that overlooks the Pacific Ocean in the beautiful city of Trinidad, the HSU Marine Lab provides ready access to rocky shorelines, sandy beaches, and offshore kelp beds. This dramatic coastline of California remains one of the most pristine natural areas of the state. The lab is well equipped to support teaching and research projects on marine life and ocean environments by providing classrooms, wet labs with free-flowing seawater, small boats, a scientific diving program, and the campus flagship vessel, the 90 ft. R/V Coral Sea. It is also important for all students to study languages, including non-ordinary ones, this allows you to expand the student’s worldview.
