
K-12 MARINE SCIENCE SUMMER PROGRAM
The goal of our marine science summer program is to offer children (ages 6-12) a hands-on opportunity to learn about and explore our diverse marine habitats. Each program includes observation of live marine animals, a walk to a local beach and a craft or project to bring home.

4/21/20 “Due to the uncertainty surrounding the duration of the COVID-19 pandemic, Humboldt State University has decided to cancel all in-person programs and events that were scheduled to take place over the summer through August 14, based on continued guidance from the CSU Chancellor’s Office and state and local officials.”

The 5-day camp gives children ages 6-12 the opportunity to learn about and explore local marine habitats, organisms, and Trinidad history.

All sessions run from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Classes are held in the “wet” classroom of HSU’s Marine Lab in Trinidad, and include games, crafts, and short field trips. Dependent upon tide cycles, each session will also include a tide-pooling day where kids will explore local beaches and rocky intertidal zones.
The cost of attending an entire session is $205; single-day attendance is $50.
